FAQ regarding the Game

Is this game official?

Short Answer: Debatable, it's really up to you if you wanna decide that. Update, it's no longer official as it will now be a fan revival.
Long Answer: Originally, yes, this game was official, as Jaluz owned RPG Maker MV and I was mainly the guy who coded, made artwork, put plugins, created events, maps, and a few music in the game, and the audio selection for the game. But since the game got officially cancelled at August 13th, 2021, on GameJolt by Jaluz himself, it's best to say this game is unofficial, right? Well, considering that an ex-dev is still working on THIS game and yet Joey is making "The Ultimate Jonathan's Adventure," made in RPG Maker 2003, there's probably going to be confusion one way or another (Even though I asked Jaluz how the hell do you confuse this game with Joe's shit besides the title of the game and also the fact that Sasara's artwork has it's link titled ".../art/view/joeythemarillfan/sasara-kuruma-the-ultimate-jonathan-s-adventure."). So, is this game official? Maybe, but I don't really care if you wanted to call it official or not if you hate either game.
But then John's like "I wanna cancel Jonathan's Adventure, and also Ultimate Jonathan's Adventure. Bye Seb!" So now, JA has been canceled twice, but guess what: it's not gonna stop. And frankly, I don't like John, but oh well, guess I'll make JA without John's support. It didn't stop me from continuing JA once it was canceled. Originally, it was gonna be rebranded as "Parappa's Adventures," but there were several problems that stopped that.

  1. LOTS of re-editing. It's possible, but I don't like delaying the game so much over a really dumb game that's surrounded by stupid drama, plus I'm lazy so if I took that route, it would've been longer to develop it.
  2. Why even care about copyright? I don't give a damn at this point if someone "pirates" this game. I don't really care if someone remixes these games and neither if you mod it (Albeit I would help anyone in making them.). I can't enforce copyrights on a game that was never meant to be copyrighted in the first place, and guess which person told me to do it? John, except John, he's a hypocrite. Because he made game prototypes with content he doesn't own (Does John even own Mario? Does he even have the rights to use sprites from Mario and Luigi in Protogent 360: Rotom's Revenge? Why does it matter now?) and not to mention the obvious, Jonathan's design is literally a rip-off of Parappa the Rapper. He literally doesn't own all of the content in either game because it's either he's friends with or he got people to do the work for him. I made literally the majority of the pictures in the demo, the code, the writing. This criticism doesn't make any sense in a series that isn't even meant to be sold at all. Sure, it can be applied to Zane's Desperate Struggles for Lesbian Pussy because the majority of the content in that game is original (Not the music. That's the different beast. If I can manage to recreate the music and sounds in the game, I would've let Natty sell the game because she owns the game in the first place.), but not Jonathan's Adventure, because these games do not have the same style (As in the feel, the atmosphere, you know what I'm saying, homie?) like each other and will never be, despite referencing each other.

Help! I can't get past X!

Consider the following:

  • Are your stats high enough?
  • Do you have the right equipment to prevent anything they exploit you on (IE status effects, elemental weaknesses and resistances, and debuffing and buffing.)?
  • Are you buffing your team so you can weigh more damage to your opponents? This isn't really a normal RPG game where buffs and debuffs don't matter (Not harder than Shin Megami Tensei III.).
  • Are you hitting the right weaknesses (Recommend using buffs on top of that.)? Remember to use any elements and note how much damage it makes. If they reflect, drain, or null that element, never use them.
  • Are you using items? Some items can be useful (Like the Golden Egg.) in case of emergencies.
  • Did you even do the tutorial.

In the Demo version, why can't I save after beating █████?

Well, it's mainly because in case if you want to continue the game after the demo, because I don't really want you to grind out 99 LEVELS and then miss out a hell amount of skills because they were grinding in the demo version than in the final version.

Why are all of the image/audio files encrypted?

It's mainly so you don't spoiler yourself with easter eggs you didn't find.

When will JA be done?

I hope to Christ it will be finished. I don't know when, but if I manage to get to the end of it (IE in the bug-killing phase of coding.), hopefully, I'll tell you so in the next post. One small domino will push more bigger dominos, in other words, it won't be the last game I'll make, there will be more. But there won't be a part of a larger franchise of my JA, so don't expect like Jonathan's Adventure 6: Clover the Couple Killer, in which he destroys all of the couples in the game, including fan-favorite ship Jonathan Patchmen and Johnthan Penis (Yes, the first selfcest ship in a Bickery game, next is the MAP ships.), Imasu Kazuo and Sasara Kuruma, and Kabi "Patty-Chan" Kabi and Razz "Sandwich-Chan" Razz.
